Gluten Free

Trufoods International has developed specially formulated gluten free products with great taste, mouth feel and added benefits for all coeliacs. All our gluten free products are manufactured by following our extremely strict procedures that are in place, which cover cleandowns between all products
including dry clean and wet clean procedures where necessary. These procedures are reinforced to staff members during regular training sessions and form part of our HACCP and daily working documentation.

In addition to good manufacturing processes, Trufoods also has segregated areas for raw materials and finished product for Conventional, Organic and Gluten Free products. In addition to the above as a further reassurance that our Gluten Free products have not been contaminated, we have every single metric tonne of Gluten Free product, independently tested for Gluten Analysis by Queensland State Health Services (the governing body for Gluten Free Products) and our test requirements are less than 10mg/kg or <0.001%.

Trufoods takes all reasonable steps to maintain the integrity of our Gluten Free product range.

Just a taste of our new range, with new products in the making including waffle mix, pancake mix and much more.

Even adding orange or chocolate flavouring to the mix prior to baking would tantalize your taste buds.

Gluten Free Bread Mix

Trufoods Gluten Free Bread Mix is a fine, off white powder that has been formulated and manufactured using specialty ingredients. The Gluten Free bread mix can be made the old fashioned way, as long as you prove it for 20-30 mins prior to baking, to give it a chance to rise. It can also be made in your bread maker. Some machines these days have a gluten free setting, but don't be too concerned if it doesn't, as it should still give you a fantastic fresh loaf of bread.

Did you know?

It is estimated that as many as 1 in 85 people have coeliac disease and this is increasing every day.

Coeliac Disease

Coeliac disease affects the small intestine - the part of the digestive system responsible for absorbing nutrients from the diet. In a person with coeliac disease, the lining of the small intestine is sensitive to gluten, which is the protein component of grains like wheat, rye, barley and oats. Even tiny amounts of gluten can cause harm. When the lining of the small intestine is damaged, nutrients like calcium, iron, folic acid and fat-soluble vitamins are poorly absorbed. Sugars, proteins and fats may be poorly absorbed too.

Malnutrition, osteoporosis, depression and infertility are just some of the problems that can develop if the disorder is left untreated. Coeliac disease is common in Australia, although firm statistics aren't available. Out of the thousands of people who have the disorder, most are of Anglo-Celtic origin. Depending on the individual, coeliac disease symptoms can be severe, moderate or mild, or the person may be asymptomatic (symptom free). Many people with coeliac disease don't know they have the condition.
There is no cure for coeliac disease; a gluten free diet is the only way to manage the condition.
